Tuesday String Band and Chicken $it Gamblers Halloween/Costume Party!

For the sixth year in a row, Chicken $#it Gamblers are hosting a Halloween party at The Ruins! This show has sold out the last few years, and has included talented groups like Redwood Revue and Billy & The Box Kid in the opening slot. The Ruins is housed in the remnants of a historic 1916 fruit cannery and features exposed, open-air concrete walls that create a unique, rustic architectural backdrop for concerts. Get ready for a costume party and a crowd that's ready to dance! This will be TSB's first time playing in Hood River, so if you're local, help us spread the word! We hope to see you there.

Tuesday String Band is a full-time Progressive Bluegrass band from Monmouth, Oregon, that formed while its members were studying in the music program at Western Oregon University. Known for their relentless touring, they were once called “the hardest working band in the Pacific Northwest” after playing nearly 200 shows in 40 different cities in a single year (Josh Cole, KBOO Radio Portland).

The band has performed at dozens of music festivals across the United States, including the North Cascades Bluegrass Festival (Bellingham, WA), The Newgrass Festival (Newberg, OR), the Florence Winter Music Festival (Florence, OR), and the Matheson Music Festival (Safford, AZ). The group has opened for folk music legends Darol Anger and Bruce Molsky, and has shared the stage with internationally touring bands like Shadowgrass, The Kruger Brothers, and Authentic Unlimited.

Tuesday String Band fans appreciate the group’s fast, tight sound, and the way that they connect with an audience. Sometimes drawing comparisons to acts like Billy Strings, Tuesday String Band has become best known for their cohesive live shows that build excitement through surprising medleys, suspenseful segues, and inspired improvisations.
